I’ve been in the coffee industry for about 10 years now and love what I do immensely. I’m a new fan of bourbon and have been wanting to come up with more bourbon-based drinks! Excited to combine my two favorites, coffee and bourbon for this challenge
Cocktail Inspiration
Old fashioneds and orange vanilla lattes
Ingredients
- 30 Ml. Licor 43 Original
- 45 Ml. Larceny Kentucky Straight Small Batch Bourbon
- 30 Ml. Espresso
- 15 Ml. Vanilla Bean Syrup
- 15 Ml. Orange Juice
Method
Cocktail Preparation
- In cocktail shaker, add 15 ml of vanilla bean syrup
- Add 15 ml of fresh orange juice
- Add 30 ml of freshly brewed espresso
- Add 30 ml of Licor 43
- Add 45 ml of Larceny Kentucky Straight Small Batch Bourbon
- Add ice to shaker and vigorously shake cocktail till outside of the tin is frosty
- Add fresh ice to rocks glass
- Double strain cocktail over ice
- Express fresh orange peel over the top of drink and wipe outside edge with peel
- Garnish with dehydrated orange wheel and freshly ground espresso
Coffee Preparation
- Measure out 18 grams of Flagship Espresso from Downeast Coffee
- Pour ground espresso into portafilter
- Using espresso tamper, apply pressure to ground espresso beans to create level, even surface
- Slide portafilter into GB5 X LaMarzocco espresso machine and lock into place
- Ensure espresso shot is 36 grams and brewed at 27 seconds for a perfect shot
