Orange Blossom 43

Inspired by my wedding cake, this is the first cocktail I have ever created for a contest. I thought it would be a fun way to expand my skills and knowledge.

Ingredients

  • 30 Ml. Licor 43 Original
  • 90 Ml. Coffee, Costa Rica Tarrazu, cold brew method
  • 15 Ml. Orange liqueur
  • 5 Dashes Orange bitters
  • 30 Ml. Heavy cream
  • 5 Ml. Orange zest, freshly grated

Method

Cocktail Preparation
  • Add 30ml heavy cream to a small bowl and lightly whip
  • In a mixing glass filled a quarter way with ice, add coffee, Licor 43, orange liqueur and orange bitters. Stir until chilled.
  • Strain cocktail into a martini glass, and float the lightly whipped heavy cream on top of the drink.
  • Garnish with freshly grated orange zest.
Coffee Preparation
  • Add 42 grams freshly ground Costa Rica Tarrazu coffee to a glass jar with 500ml of room temperature water, then stir to combine.
  • Place lid on jar and refrigerate for 21 hours.
  • Strain coffee through a sieve, lined with a damp paper towel, into a clean jar, and keep refrigerated.
  • Makes 375ml of cold brew coffee.
